Why Prepay?

If you are new to the CSAs, or just haven't given it much thought, prepayment is an important practice for CSA programs.

It Helps the Farmer.

Farmers incur a lot of expense early in the year to bring you delicious products all year round. Seeds must be purchased, the soil conditioned, etc. Many farmers must borrow money from banks to pay for these expenses until the crop can be sold and the loans repaid. But finance charges must be passed on to our customers, making produce more expensive. In today's troubled financial times, loans are harder to get, and more expensive. So the custom of prepayment is more important than ever for our CSA.

When you prepay, we can borrow less money. This savings can be passed on to you as a discount.
